Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Aug. 4, 2020) – Scott Bogucki has spent the last month preparing for the 30th annual My Place Hotels 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank.
The moment has arrived for the SawBlade.com backed competitor, who invades Knoxville Raceway this Friday for preliminary competition before Saturday’s event finale.
“The last few years I normally get there and haven’t had many laps throughout the season to learn,” he said. “This year we’ve logged a lot of laps and I feel like we’re the best we’ve ever been.”
Bogucki has made the A Main during the 360 Knoxville Nationals each of the last two years with a 22nd-place outing in 2018 his best result. After scoring his first career triumph at the track and five consecutive top-10 finishes at the half-mile oval throughout the last few weeks Bogucki enters this weekend with confidence.
“We’ve been starting up front and seem to fade,” he said. “Last Saturday it was the opposite and I think in another lap I would have had Clint Garner for fifth. We changed some things around and I feel like I have a really, really good car.”
Bogucki qualified seventh quickest in his group last Saturday. He then gained a position to finish second in a heat race before he picked up two spots for a sixth-place result in the main event.
“I want to finish the best I’ve ever finished there in the 360 Knoxville Nationals this weekend,” he said. “If I could run in the top 10 it’d be great.”
Bogucki will also race this Sunday at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, during the Sage Fruit Ultimate Challenge presented by Searsboro Telephone Co. with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour. He maneuvered from 12 th to fifth in the event last year.
