Inside Line Promotions – ELMA, Wash. (June 22, 2021) – One of the biggest Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour events of the season is on tap and Scott Bogucki is ready to pounce.

The SawBlade.com sponsored driver joins the series at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash., this Thursday through Saturday for the $15,000-to-win Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup.

“It probably is our biggest race of the year,” he said. “You have to have two good qualifying nights to start up front on Saturday. To have two good nights with the competition level that will be there can be tricky. I’ve always raced well there so that is good.”

Bogucki has been fast during his handful of starts at the high-banked dirt oval, where he has a career-best result of second place in 2018.

“Hopefully it’s like it has been the other years and whatever we do works,” he said. “It’s pretty narrow, but it doesn’t race like that to me. You walk around it and you’re thinking this place is narrow, but when you’re racing on it it doesn’t feel like it. It’s really its own beast.”

Bogucki made his first visit of the season to the state of Washington last weekend for the Fred Brownfield Classic at Grays Harbor Raceway.

He finished where he started in both a heat race – third – and a B Main – first – during Saturday’s opener. Bogucki advanced from 17th to 13th in the main event.

The finale featured similar results on Sunday when Bogucki rallied from eighth to fifth place in a heat race. He placed second in a B Main before maneuvering from 19th to 13th in the A Main.

“We fought motor issues all weekend,” he said. “We put a different engine in and struggled with it. It didn’t give us much time to work on the race car.

“We were better the final night. We ran up to seventh. On a restart there were a bunch of cars down the backstretch and a guy came over in front of us, knocked the nose wing off and did a bunch of damage. We just limped it home.”
