Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Aug. 10, 2021) – Scott Bogucki produced a career-best result last weekend during the 31st annual My Place Hotels 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank hosted by Knoxville Raceway.
Bogucki finished fourth on Friday during preliminary action before capping the event with an eighth-place showing on Saturday. Both were career-best outings for the SawBlade.com sponsored driver.
Bogucki’s 360 Knoxville Nationals began with a ninth-place qualifying effort out of 40-plus competitors last Thursday. He then gained a position to finish fourth in a heat race, which garnered a lock-in position into the A Main. Bogucki started and finished fourth during the feature to earn enough points to make Saturday’s main event.
“It was pretty good,” he said. “I got to second and honestly felt like we could have won or competed for the win, but we had the left rear tire shrink up two inches. It made it really go left and I lost a spot to third. I switched to point racing mode. Then Gio (Scelzi) got me and I ran fourth.”
The strong showing continued in the A Main on Saturday when Bogucki recorded an eighth-place run.
“We worked on what we ran Friday,” he said. “I had Brad Benic with me. We made a ton of changes from the A Main hot laps to the A Main. I knew I’d be no good in the long run. During the race we got held up and I wasted probably six or seven laps between two guys racing each other. I feel like if we got by them early we had a top-five car. Normally I’m good at the start and fade late, whereas this time I was good later around. It was a pretty good feeling.”
