Inside Line Promotions – LUBBOCK, Texas (June 23, 2020) – John Carney II has momentum on his side heading into a return to Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour competition this week.

The SawBlade.com Xiphos saw blade and Danny Sander Construction backed sprint car driver has won a 305ci winged sprint car race while driving for Scott Brown each of the last three weekends, capped with a triumph last Friday at West Texas Raceway.

“We were up until four in the morning putting the car together and we rolled out with a new Helix chassis,” he said. “There were some bugs that needed to be worked out so we finished fourth in the heat. I lined up fourth in the feature and the guy on the outside of the front row spun out so we moved up a row. The track was slick, which is what I like, and we led the whole thing.

“It definitely helps confidence and building momentum to be winning races. I’m really looking forward to this weekend and having a good time.”

Carney II returns to his sprint car this week for a pair of Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour races – the first since March 8. It begins on Thursday at Caney Valley Speedway in Caney, Kan., before the action shifts to I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., on Saturday.

“We’re having to borrow a trailer to run this week so I’m hoping to have everything I need transferred over so we can leave tomorrow,” he said. “It will be my debut at Caney Valley Speedway. I’ve been to I-30 Speedway I don’t know how many times. I’ve always had good speed, but the weirdest things happen there during the Short Track Nationals. I’ve been leading heat races and qualifiers and had parts break. Finally the last two times I’ve been it’s been pretty good. Last year I ran second on the prelim and then ran third on the final night so I’m really looking forward to going back.”
