Inside Line Promotions – FORT WORTH, Texas (Nov. 5, 2019) – Scott Bogucki capped his best season of sprint car racing in the United States by taking the win during the final event of the 2019 ASCS National Tour season last Friday at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track.

It was Bogucki’s third ASCS National Tour victory of the season and fourth in two seasons racing with the series. The triumph, coupled with a seventh-place finish on Thursday during the opening round of the Tony Stewart presents the VANKOR Texas Sprint Car Nationals, propelled the Australian driver and his SawBlade.com sponsored team to fifth in the final championship standings. He said :

“It’s great to finish the year with a win, not only for me but for all my sponsors. We had struggled the past couple of months and this will give me a tremendous boost heading into the offseason. To be honest, we had a top-three team with the ASCS. If you eliminate a couple of bad nights that were out of our control, and me getting my bell rung, we would have been there.”

The 2018 ASCS Rookie of the Year said when looking at the season from start to finish, posting 11 top-five finishes, “is something to be incredibly proud of.”

“We had an amazing Knoxville Nationals in both the 410 and 360, making the A Main for the 360 Nationals once again and only missing the 410 A Main by three positions. Our program this season was improved in every aspect and that has me so pumped up for 2020.”

Bogucki said the track was “locked down” early last Thursday when he raced to a fifth-place heat race finish and came home eighth in a qualifier. That placed him into a B Main, in which he drove from fourth to second.

“The track got a lot better by feature-time and I drove from 20th up to fifth and something knocked the ignition switch off. By the time I realized what had happened two cars got around me and I finished seventh, but was still the Hard Charger.”

Bogucki’s confidence from Thursday carried over to Friday with a sixth to second place run in his heat race. A fifth-place finish in his qualifier started him fifth for the final feature of 2019.

“At the start of the race everyone went to the top and I drove right to third and when they continued to race up there my car was just fantastic on the bottom, especially in turns three and four. I got to the lead. I thought I might have been too good too early so I just drove it as hard as I could.”

Bogucki traded slide jobs with Tony Stewart for the lead toward the end of the race, but was able to maintain the top spot. He used traffic to his advantage to hold off Stewart and late in the race a bid from former ASCS and two-time Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions titlest Aaron Reutzel, even surviving a green-white-checkered finish.

“That was a blast racing with Tony like that. I just had to be patient and make my car as wide as I could.”

Bogucki will get the team “buttoned up” for the winter and will head back to Australia later this month.

“I can’t wait to get back to a beach and out of this cold. I should be back in the states by February and get ready for 2020.”
